LPLC uses fun, educational and informative media production to accomplish our four-step hands-on learning process and meet the goals of the program: leadership development, community engagement and global citizenship for Latino children and families.
01 LEARN
Welcome, let’s find out about the program and each other’s interests. We are about to learn, experience, evaluate and develop. Let’s exercise our bilingual super brains!
02 PRACTICE
Camera, set, action! Let’s play in our fun workshops, put in practice new knowledge, further develop traits and skills and improve confidence. Let’s feed our latino culture loving heart.
03 LEAD
You’ve been working hard, having lots of fun, you are in control and taking charge! You’re a Leader with a healthy body system doing projects for school, work or the community.
04 CHALLENGE
You are Leaders in Action, competent critical thinkers with bilingual super brains, culture loving hearts & healthy body systems. Leaders challenging and setting your own goals and vision!

to educate while entertaining in challenging, fun activities that help Latino kids and families be well-rounded leaders and citizens proud of their heritage, and with opportunities to imagine, learn, believe, succeed and lead.
LPLC was started by a husband and wife team of Latinos in 2005 as the Young Latino Leadership Workshop, a personal social responsibility program addressing what they perceived as leadership, cultural and educational deficiencies in Latino kids living in NYC. It consisted of workshops, a travel showcase, a summer program, and radio and tv shows.
LPLC now also helps adult Latinos learn skills and develop traits needed for growth, success and leadership.
The Leadership Program for Latino Children leverages media production to help Latino children and families learn, practice, lead and challenge; and to develop the future Latino leader’s multi-cultured bilingual super brains, culture loving hearts and healthy body systems.
